BetterChat for WhatsApp App Reviews
I tried many Apps for WhatsApp, but I have to say this one is definitely the best. It has all relevant features: Dark Theme, Camera Support… and the best part: you can even send Voice Messages!! As far as I know there is no other App that can do this. Also it is so elegant and shows so much love to detail, Steve would have loved it. ;-)
Wanted to like it but it doesn’t work. After restarting computer, the app still won’t generate a QR Code for me to scan. Hoping the company will fix the problem or refund the money. Very disappointed.
Basically bought everything on the appstore to try and find the best desktop solution for Whatsapp. Disappointed by all of them for one reason or another - no keyboard shortcuts, no ability to send audio, etc. Got frustrated enough that I started purchasing apps without any existing reviews, and these guys did it! Best of the bunch, beats the free WhatsChrome as well. Only thing Id love are keyboard shortcuts to move up and down conversations, but command+f and command+n alone do most of the job already. Great work.
when you first start it up in the longin for mac it pretty slow i thought it was going to get quickness but eveything load am just disappointed a little
Garbage
Waste of money, regret paying for it, refuses to let me shut down, hangs Macbook, starts up all over again after waking from sleep, then takes forever to load, no way to change setting, pure trash, waste of money, go elsewhere.
PDF download?
When PDF docx received, this app was not able to download them to my computer for viewing. MAC OS asked me to find a program to be able to open PDF's downloaded through this app. I installed the competitors free app and the exact same file downloaded and was recognized as a standard PDF file. Not sure why this paid app was incapable of doing such a basic function. Uninstalled it! Waste of time and a couple of bucks
No bug fixes in four years
Both the Download image and replace background image feature in BetterChat for WhatsApp has never worked in four years in the MacOS version. When I try to send a message to text support from the web site it always tell me i’m a bot and my message can’t be sent. Please fix all three issues ASAP.
DO NOT BUY
The app does not allow for VIDEO / AUDIO calls as it is ADVERTISED. When emailing them they set up the website to deny your emails based on a "Bot" test but really sends you in circles. DO. NOT. BUY.
Won't scan, won't support
Thanks for nothing. It won't scan, and support won't let me submit and just keeps saying I'm a bot, like I don't know crosswalks from shinola. Ridiculous!

Dark Theme Broken
I only got this app for the Dark Theme and it's not working now. Please fix.
Complete Trash
Developers dont answer questions, no dark mode or anything remotely different than the original WhatsApp. I would've never paid for this had I known that these guys don't keep up with their products or their inquiries.
Many Features Not Working
1. Preferences not working (no menu shown) 2. No dark mode as promised 3. Received files (images, docs, voice) cannot be saved into my machine 4. Cannot take/place calls 5. Drag/drop files into group chat crashes the app 6. Emailing to support returned as failed mail. By far, what I get from the app has no different with the official app from WhatsApp
No different than free client
Doesn't seem to have any features the free client does. Dark mode doesn't work. Preferences doesn't work. Looks identical to the official client.
Doesnt work properly
Safe your money and dont buy it. Preferences won’t open and app itself is very buggy
No security
When you purchase this app, it has a lot of privay and security but when you use it for a while, it disappears and it works like the regular ones. It doesn’t wortht the price after all.
Buggy after the update
After the update everything looks different and out of whack. The profile picture is behind the minimize button. The dark theam no longer works properly. Please fix this
Not good
So the app itself is fine, no different to any other, however it does NOT play any media (videos etc) and opening the emoji screen takes ages. I have a fully kitted out Mac Book Pro i9, 32GB RAM - just in case anyone thinks its a spec issue. Dont bother with this, get a free one with less hassle
Amazing app, I just can’t find where to record and share videos.

I’ve tried a ***-load of apps for my Mac regarding WhatsApp. There are quite a few, even the ones you can find on GitHub. I came across this gem, and had no problem paying for it. The interface is beautiful, the QR scanning from my phone worked flawlessly and the dark mode is gorgeous. Love it. Great job and keep up the good work!

It works perfect.. but i get a lost conneciton issue even though my whatsapp is open on my phone.. still don’t know how to fix this!
